Valley Hospice
15 Essex Road, Paramus, NJ
The deepest practice is facing death, our own and others.
All of life is a preparation for this moment.
Join Henry Joji Fersko-Weiss, MSW, of the Valley Hospital Hospice team, in the End of Life training program to become a Doula, one who cares for the dying. This program was developed by Henry to ensure that no one dies alone. It is an excellent opportunity to think deeply about how we wish to die and to learn how to be with our own family and friends who may be facing death.
The goal of the program is to train you as a volunteer to serve the patients and families of Valley Hospice who are actively dying. As a Doula, your time commitment will be relatively small each month. Doulas work shifts in teams so you'll be working closely with other doulas on your team. The rewards of guiding and companioning people through this ultimate transition are incalculable.
The first night will be devoted to subjects that are necessary to meet the requirements of becoming a regular hospice volunteer and the appropriate paperwork. This session will allow everyone to become a Valley Hospice volunteer as well as an End-of-Life (EOL) Doula Volunteer.
